What should people know about Pinehaven Country Club’s golf course?
This summer, we will be hosting our third State Championship since 1998 and yet our course remains a bit of a secret. It is peacefully tucked away in the Pinebush region of Guilderland and is always in fantastic shape due to its natural sand base. We have four sets of tees to accommodate golfers of all ages and skill levels and it is a fun and challenging course that allows you to use every club in your bag. From the Championship tees, the course is almost 6,600 yards long and will pose a tremendous challenge to the competitors of the 2008 New York State Men’s Amateur Championship.
What can you tell us about membership at Pinehaven?
In terms of return on your money, Pinehaven membership is a tremendous value when compared to other private clubs in the area. Our affordable membership includes full use of our exceptional golf course, including driving range, short-game practice area and locker facilities. We are very excited about the opening this spring of our newly constructed putting green, which is three times the size of our former green.
Our Pinehaven membership consists of a broad cross-section of people and we have tailored our golf activities to appeal to a variety of interests. The Club has two Men’s Leagues and an active weekend tournament schedule. Our Women’s Association runs two weekly leagues and tournaments throughout the season. The Pro Shop’sgolf instruction program has group clinics and individual lessons for men, women and children. We have also developed a summer junior sports camp that combines swimming, golf and daily special activities. It is no wonder that the Club’s focus on its golf activities has produced some of the Capital Region’s finest men and women players. Of course, for those members who aren’t interested in formal leagues or tournaments, the course is readily available for informal play.
What can you tell us about the social activities for members at Pinehaven?
We are very excited to begin 2008 with our new caterer, Anthony Andonino, and our new restaurant, Siver Hills. Anthony has hired renowned local chef, Kevin Conway, to meet the culinary needs of our membership and guests. We look forward to tremendous food and drink to accompany our social activities that include monthly Friday night golf socials, pool-side parties, weekend entertainment in the Clubhouse, holiday activities and parties and, as always, a family friendly menu and environment.
Is Pinehaven available for golf outings, weddings, private parties or meetings held by non-members?
Yes, the Club has dates available for the upcoming 2008 season and beyond. We would encourage groups looking to hold an event to contact us for additional information.
Where can I get additional information regarding membership at Pinehaven?
Some additional information can be obtained from our website, www.pinehavencc.com, or by contacting our Club Administrator, Michael Jewell, at 456-7111 extension 112.
Tell us something we would never know about Pinehaven Country Club unless we were members?
Probably the most important thing to know about Pinehaven is how friendly the members are, and how welcome new members are made to feel when they join. We are fortunate to have a really nice mix of people who are all there to enjoy their Club and help their fellow members enjoy it also.
